The LCLS encourages scientists to submit proposals for experiments that utilize the LCLS's unique capabilities. Access to LCLS is open to the international community.
Scientists interested in using the LCLS for their research are recommended to read the quick start guide for new LCLS users on the “User Guide and Resources” page on the main LCLS website.
Calls for new proposals are regularly posted on the LCLS announcement page. You can also check the latest proposal schedule for the current call status.
To help you prepare for your submission, please follow the proposal preparation guidelines. This guide also described the different modes of access available at LCLS. Finally, new users may find it helpful to review the different instruments available for biology experiments, as well as the standard configurations that they offer.
In case your proposal gets accepted for beamtime at LCLS, you will be assigned a point of contact who will assist you with any questions or requests.

Center for Structural Dynamics in Biology
LCLS has recently partnered with the National Institute of Health (NIH) to create the Center for Structural Dynamics in Biology. The center is a biomedical technology research resource that aims to provide new technologies and capabilities for the biomedical and general user community at LCLS.
Next to collaborating with research groups on driving biomedical projects, the center offers to support your research via collaboration & services projects.
